Meet the artist behind Reckless Media

About me

May I start by saying it is truly an honor that whoever for whatever reason you have come this far to learn a little about myself and my journey.

My name is Stormy Stonebraker, at this point in my creative career while finishing my website, I am 26 years in the making. Born in a small town Beaufort, South Carolina. With Filipino, Japanese, European, German and Irish backgrounds all running through my veins. My mind and heart have never been able to sit in one place. I have traveled to and through numerous states from coast to coast and even lived out of the country in Okinawa, Japan when I was a child.

Art being a part of my soul has never changed or been a question. From Drawing and Painting on any surface I could find, to Altering and Sewing my clothes together and ripping them apart at the seams. Tattooing both myself and friends. Inspired unknowingly by my since passed father. To Producing with a knack for playing the saxophone in 5th grade and the drums before that. Inspired by my cousins and uncles constantly. Photography has also played its large parts in the creation of who I am as well, Inspired by my mother and since passed uncle as well. Poetry has played a part during my adventure too, so I guess you can say there's nothing I can't do.

Self-expression is extremely important to me. I was always an outgoing, out-spoken and overly expressive child. Regardless of peoples opinions. A solid A & B student (minus that one biology class) "Likes to doodle during class" was on more than a few report cards. Speaking up for yourself and especially the right things, goes a long way. Ive never held my tongue and never plan to.

My Inspirations

Shout out to Mother Stonebraker for building me into the woman I have become. A kind heart, a strong mind and discipline go such a long way. While teaching me to simultaneously not take disrespect from anyone regardless of stature but also never taking no for an answer when it involves following my dreams. Remaining humble and remembering where I come from have never left my mind. I wouldn't be who I am today if it wasn't for her.

Shoutout to the Strong and dedicated Grandfather Stonebraker for reminding me what Family truly is. Shout out to the Amazing since passed Great GrandMother Tiedmann for keeping me soft hearted and gentle, and reminding me that life goes by faster than we realize. In loving memory.

Shout out to the siblings I have on both sides for engaging  with one another as much as we can regardless of the paths our families chose.

Shout out to some of my closest friends, Dierrah, Katie, Mikel, Haley, Angel, Hen and Zach for motivating me daily to keep purusing my dreams no matter how tired and discouraged I can get.

Shout out to my favorite art teacher 2011 Mrs. Norwood- Simonds for shaping my art heart and always pushing me to be better and never comparing my art to others, only to appreciate the differences.

I've always been inspired by artists such as Cornbread, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Banksy, Mr. Brainwash, Anna Wintour, Robert Wun and so many others, who fearlessly expressed their unique visions, without question regardless of outside opinions and statements.

The real stuff no one talks about

As most of us, I have had my fair share of struggles in life, from heartbreaks by friends, lovers and even some family members. Being homeless during my junior year of high school and again at 20 years old.  Discouragement and self abandonment. With smaller struggles in-between those. These things have shaped me into the strong willed, dedicated and humble person I am today.

As many of you know, and for those who do not, I started working as an exotic dancer to fund my fashion and art career and goals. I wouldn't change anything about this part of my life. I have met some of the strongest, most dedicated, women during my time in the clubs. Mothers, Students, fellow entrepreneurs, Artists, Musicians, along with so many other walks of life. These women have pushed me to be better without realizing it. If you get the chance to read this, I  wish the best for all of you.

Every person and situation has shaped me a little in some way. I have learned patience, wisdom, kindness, love, and discipline during these events, while becoming a diary of everything and everyone I have ever loved. I do not regret nor would change anything I've been through, being as though I wouldn't have met the people in my life currently or the ones I've left in the past. Nor would I have been able to obtain the opportunities I have had access to both past and present.

Thank you to those who have stayed and even those who have left, I am eternally grateful for every lesson, as you played a part in my life, whether large or small, the love you received from me is forever yours to keep.

Big smiles, November 15, 2025.

With Love, Stormy Stonebraker.
